3. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for admission to the graduate program in Neuroscience include a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university, a grade point average of B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better, an application, application fee, and three letters of recommendation accompanied by the OSU Reference Form. It is recommended that at least one of the letters of recommendation be from the applicant’s undergraduate major advisor or from a faculty member who knows the applicant well. The letters should also address the applicant’s laboratory research experience, if applicable. A GRE Subject Test, while not an absolute requirement, is strongly recommended. Additional required materials include transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work and a personal statement of purpose describing the applicant’s background, prior research experience, interests, and goals as well as a curriculum vitae. Prior laboratory research experience, while not required, is strongly recommended. The NGSP will not accept any applicants who have an OSU faculty appointment, unless that person intends to resign from their faculty appointment prior to enrollment.
