The Neuroscience Graduate Minor consists of graduate-level course work available to students who are not enrolled in the Neuroscience Graduate Studies Program. Students wishing to pursue an official Graduate Minor must follow the procedures for access outlined below.

• A student in conjunction with her/his advisor should determine the appropriateness of pursuing a Graduate Minor and how best to incorporate it into the student’s program of study.
  
• The student completes the Neuroscience Graduate Minor Program Form, including obtaining her/his advisor’s signature, which serves as an application to enroll in the Neuroscience Graduate Minor. This form will list the required and/or elective courses the student must complete in order to obtain the Neuroscience Graduate Minor transcript designation.
  
• Copies of the completed form are given to the Graduate School and the Graduate Studies Chair from the student’s home graduate program. The NGSP Program Administrator will keep the original copy on file. A letter indicating why the student desires a Neuroscience Minor, and a copy of the most recent student advising report should accompany the completed NGSP Minor Form. Neuroscience Graduate Minor Program Forms are available in the NGSP office, 4058 Graves Hall, 333 W. 10th Ave. Completed forms may be submitted during the first two weeks of each quarter.
  
• Upon receipt of the completed Neuroscience Graduate Minor Program Form, the NGSP Committee will review the application and send the student an acknowledgment indicating whether or not the request is approved (such approval based SOLELY on the availability of space within the maximum limit of thirty students), with a copy being sent to the Graduate School and the student’s home Graduate Studies Committee.
  
• Upon receipt of the acknowledgment from the NGSP Committee, the Graduate School will send the student an acknowledgment letter.
  
• The student must adhere to the curriculum for the Neuroscience Graduate Minor as indicated on the approved Neuroscience Graduate Minor Program Form. If changes in the approved curriculum are necessary, the student must complete a new Neuroscience Graduate Minor Program Form and once again obtain approval via steps described above.
  
• Graduate school and Neuroscience Graduate Studies Program guidelines require that the student earn a minimum of a B grade in all of these courses to receive a minor. If a student receives a B- (B minus) grade in any course related to the neuroscience minor, the NGSP Committee in conjunction with the director(s) of the course will decide the form of remediation. The form of remediation may include, but is not limited to, retaking the course the next time it is offered.
  
• Upon application to graduate, the student must complete the Neuroscience Graduate Minor Transcript Designation Form.
  
• The Graduate School will match the courses completed with those in the approved Neuroscience graduate Minor. Departures from the approved Neuroscience Graduate Minor could lead to a loss of transcript designation. We need to be sure the changes we discussed have been sent to the Graduate School so students get credit.
