Research:

As a member of the DeVries lab, I have been involved in various studies looking at the influences of social interaction on disease outcome and the behavioral effects of chemotherapy. My primary interest is to study how social interaction affects the inflammatory response and its effects upon disease outcome. It is known that the inflammatory cascade plays a pivotal role in disease outcome and that social interaction modifies this response. My goal is to uncover the mechanisms by which social interaction modulates the immune response.
