Research
My research focuses on sex differences in the impact of stress on the brain as well as stress-induced vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders including anxiety and major depressive disorder. I am particularly interested in the role of female gonadal hormones, including estrogen and progesterone, on the development of stress responsive circuitry and how these hormones impact the excitatory-inhibitory balance within the prefrontal cortex during puberty.
