I am interested in understanding the cellular mechanisms of demyelination and endogenous repair after traumatic spinal cord injury. Currently, my research focuses on characterizing the spatiotemporal patterns of ion channel clustering and spreading along spared demyelinated and remyelinated axons. I utilize both a contusion and compression model of SCI to evaluate how injury biomechanics differentially affect pathology and the degree of endogenous repair.
