What are your application deadlines for autumn semester enrollment?

International applicants must submit ALL materials by November 30th. Domestic applicants must submit ALL materials to the Neuroscience Program no later than December 1st.

Do you offer a master's degree in neuroscience?

No, the Neuroscience Graduate Program is only awards doctoral degrees

Do you accept international students into the program?

Yes, the Neuroscience Graduate Program accepts international students.

Is there a minimum GRE test score required for admission?

The Neuroscience Graduate Program admissions committee carefully considers the entirety of an application and therefore we set no precise minimum requirements on specific metrics.  The average GRE scores of our matriculated students over the past 5 years are: Verbal - 564 (75%); Quantitative - 701 (71%); Analytical Writing - 4.4 (53%).

Will you accept photocopies of test scores for admission?

No. Photocopies of TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, GRE or GMAT scores are not considered to be official and are not acceptable substitutes for official scores.

Is the GRE subject test required for admission to the program?

A GRE subject test is not required but, if available, would certainly be considered in the overall evaluation.

What funding opportunities are available to Neuroscience graduate students?

All students will receive funding as Graduate Research Associate; however, some students may be eligible to compete for internal and external fellowships

Is there a foreign language requirement?

No, there is no foreign language requirement

Do I have to take an English proficiency test such as the TOEFL exam?

You are exempt from taking an English proficiency test, such as, TOEFL, MELAB, or IETLS, if you have established citizenship in one of the following countries: Australia, Belize, British Caribbean, British West Indies, Canada (except Quebec), England, Guyana, Ireland, Liberia, New Zealand, Scotland, Wales, and The United States. US Green Card holders are exempt from taking an English proficiency test if they have held the Green Card at least one year prior to their quarter of enrollment.

If you are eligible to receive a bachelor's degree of higher from one of the countries listed above, then you are exempt from taking an English proficiency test. Please note: It is not required that you must have your degree completed from one of the exempt countries at the time you are applying for admission. However, you must have completed your degree prior to your quarter of enrollment.

If your country is not listed as any of the exempt counties, you must take the English proficiency test.

How do I check the status of my application?

If I have submitted my curriculum vitae/resume, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation electronically do I need to submit hardcopies?

If materials are submitted electronically, you do not need to submit hardcopies.

What are the guidelines for the autobiographical statement of purpose?
