Career Development

Within the program/department

  • The Neuroscience Graduate Student Organization (NGSO) has a Professional Development committee which works to find and establish resources for NGP students to utilize as they build their resumes during graduate school and consider their career options after graduate school.
  • Every other spring, NGP participates in IGP Career Day. Speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds and fields are invited to speak to graduate students about their career trajectory, why they chose their current position, and provide advice for those wishing to pursue similar career paths. Students have the opportunity to interact with individual speakers at lunch and build valuable networking connections. Past speakers have included medical science liaisons, NIH review officers, Nikon technicians, patent lawyers, full-time lecturers at small liberal arts colleges, and even the CEO of our local science museum, COSI.
